What is The Primal Path?
At RW Supply & Design, we’re committed to strengthening families, and we’re thrilled to introduce The Primal Path, a year-long Bible study program created by John Tyson for fathers to disciple their sons (ages 13-18). This program guides young men through five key shifts toward manhood, combining regular discussions, activities, and reflection, with dedicated preparation for fathers to ensure a meaningful, transformative experience.
Hear from our CEO, Sam Cobb about The Primal Path
This program covers five key shifts young men need to make to become men: from ease to difficulty, self to others, whole to part, control to surrender, and temporal to eternal.
The study involves a 10-12 minute conversation and reading five times a week, with each shift spanning 10 weeks. It includes suggested weekend activities and a challenge day at the end of each shift, combining physical activity and personal reflection.
Having completed 24 weeks of this material, I can attest to its value. I’ve seen positive changes in my boys, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness. This study requires active participation rather than passive hope.
However, this program is not for the faint of heart. It requires six weeks of preparatory work for dads, including six one-hour training sessions and significant homework. The homework involves crafting a manhood ceremony and conducting deep soul-searching exercises, such as mapping significant emotional moments of your life and sharing these experiences with your son.
I’m happy to answer any questions, as I’ve been working on this for several months. Please feel free to contact me.
Details for those interested
If you are interested in participating in The Primal Path 2025 Cohort, please signal your interest by filling out this brief form (no commitment required at this point). This is of course completly optional!
Financially, the program typically costs $995, but we’ve arranged for RWS+D employees to access it for $199. We aim to start a cohort in January 2025, with additional cohorts in the fall or 2026 as your sons reach the appropriate age. And yes, we are exploring making other programs available for those with daughters. More information to come.
