RW Supply + Design’s mission is that we exist UNTIL EVERY CHILD IS HOME. There are approximately 153 million orphaned children around the world. In addition to the 153 million, countless other children are living in highly neglectful situations…forced to care for themselves and younger siblings. Causes of abandonment and neglect are: poverty, disease, war, addiction, medical needs, mental illness, and more.

Abandoned children rarely just experience one traumatic event. Instead they experience trauma after trauma. Complex trauma (repeated traumatic events) increases health risks and dramatically reduce life expectancy. Children who grow up without the support of a stable adult are often unprepared to parent their own children. This leads to repeated cycles of abandonment or child neglect.

Understanding the problem helps us identify effective solutions. When we consider the solution – every child home – we believe that attachment is the best way to provide ‘home’ and combat child abandonment. Sometimes this means helping children find a safe adult…adoption or foster care. Other times it means providing support for struggling biological families. This is why we support organizations that prioritize healthy attachment. The ability to provide attachment for kids, and work until the day that every child is home, is solely because of the work that you do each day!
