RW Supply + Design’s mission is that we exist UNTIL EVERY CHILD IS HOME. In honor of Valentine’s Day, we are celebrating one of our own! Zachary Cobban, son of Shane and Michelle Cobban joined his family through adoption just over 7 years ago. He was born with a heart condition. Sadly, many children, waiting in orphanages, are identified as having mild to significant special needs. Since an identifiable special need costs money, desperate families are left with few options. Additionally, lack of education about these needs can cause abandonment. On the whole, orphanages, are ill equipped to handle these needs and neglect results. We believe that a special need of any kind shouldn’t be the reason a child loses their biological family OR the reason a child grows up in an orphanage.

After the Cobbans adopted him, Zachary was able to receive medical intervention in the US. As with many children from hard places…his medical needs were not his greatest need. EVERY child needs to grow up in the safety and security of HOME. The Cobbans have faithfully pursued Zachary’s heart…healing Zachary in more ways than one. They have walked the, often bumpy road, of attachment. It has changed ALL six of them. In fact, Michelle is regularly a resource for other families pursuing adoption.

Our hope is that through Family Preservation, Education Funding, Family Style Homes, and Adoption Grants, every child with a medical need is able to grow up in a HOME. Through projects like Love Without Boundaries’ Unity Initiative, biological families are able to receive financial and/or medical help…preventing the trauma of abandonment. And, we prioritize adoption grants for children who are waiting for families. The ability to provide adoption grants for waiting children like Zachary, is solely because of the work that you do each day!
