Without education, a child is less likely to be able to support themselves in the future and so the cycle of poverty continues. A study from UNESCO has shown if all adults received just two more years of schooling or completed secondary school, it would lift nearly 60 million people out of poverty. However, for children living in poverty, education is a luxury many simply cannot afford.” – Compassion International

RW Supply + Design’s mission is that we exist UNTIL EVERY CHILD IS HOME. Supporting quality education for at risk children overlaps with our three other missional components (Family Preservation, Homes for Abandoned Children, and Adoption). We know that education is more than just a degree or learning a skill, although that is definitely important. For children growing up in poverty education is the hand that pulls them out of desperate circumstances. Education is hope that there is something other than mere survival. We have seen firsthand the benefit of education in breaking the cycles of poverty that cause generational trauma and lead to child abandonment. The ability to support educational opportunities for at risk children, and work until the day that every child is home, is solely because of the work that you do each day!
